Governor Mary Fallin Statement at Start of Special Legislative Session

OKLAHOMA CITY – Governor Mary Fallin today issued the following statement as legislators arrived at the Oklahoma State Capitol for the start of a special session addressing lawsuit reform:

“Reinstating Oklahoma’s lawsuit reform measures as quickly as possible is important to Oklahoma businesses and Oklahoma medical professionals who will otherwise be vulnerable to frivolous lawsuits and a hostile legal climate. Passing these measures quickly will help our state to retain and attract good jobs, and send a strong message that our lawmakers stick up for their constituents.

“My thanks go out to our legislators who are here for the beginning of this week’s Special Session. The entire state of Oklahoma stands to benefit from their hard work.” – Gov. Mary Fallin
